Welcome to Food Empowerment! My name is Jen and I am here to help you achieve your specific health focus.
How I came to Food Empowerment, is through my own personal experience with food intolerances and food sensitivities. My son when he was 12 months old, received his first MMR shot, and experienced a latent anaphylactic response to the egg that the vaccine was cultured in. It was the scariest time of my life as we struggled to figure this out.
After many trips to the ER and his allergy test showing a possible allergy to eggs, however; nothing definitive which was ultimately frustrating. Myself, I had a massive reaction with welting hives, to potatoes but was also told that it was a possible allergy but did not show on my allergy test. I was instructed to take two Zyrtec daily to manage symptoms. I was not ok with this for myself and especially my son. I spent many hours researching our symptoms, and found information on food intolerances and sensitivities, researched many naturopathic doctors and found Dr. Ali. The change in not only my health but my son’s was dramatic, even with my thyroid auto-immune issues, I was helped immensely. As a busy working mother, I was looking to find answers with my own experience with sensitivities to potato and dairy, but also my son’s to eggs, and get this information out to other’s going through the same. I knew there had to be a better way to get this information out to everyday people who are also suffering in a synthesized way that makes it easy to navigate the vast amount of food ingredients and food products in our grocery stores everyday.
Thus, you have the birth of Food Empowerment and my mission to help as many people as I can to overcome the process of eating foods that are hurting your body, but to empower to heal using foods they are able to digest, instead of inflaming their bodies. Inflammation is the number one cause of many terminal and auto immune diseases so if we can help people eat for health, and sustain that health, our mission will have been completed. As a master certified coach, I am here to help you gain focus and training in the area that will most impact your personal health journey.
