Homemade Pesto Pasta

Avoid the nasty oils hidden in store bought pesto with this easy homemade recipe.  The nutrients found in fresh basil are a bonus!

Time: 15 mins
Serves: 1-2 people


  • 1 c fresh basil
  • ¼ c extra virgin olive or walnut oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ¼ cup cashews, pine nuts or walnuts
  • 1 tsp nutritional yeast
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tsp maldon flaky sea salt
  • 1 pound of cooked pasta or spiraled raw zucchini
  • Optional garnishes: micro greens and freshly grated parmesan


  1. Blend all ingredients in a food processor or blender until smooth adding water to desired consistency.
  2. Top pasta or spiraled raw zucchini with the pesto.
  3. Served with fresh micro greens and fresh grated parmesan.
