Avoid the nasty oils hidden in store bought pesto with this easy homemade recipe. The nutrients found in fresh basil are a bonus!

Serves: 1-2 people
Ingredients:
- 1 c fresh basil
- ¼ c extra virgin olive or walnut oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- ¼ cup cashews, pine nuts or walnuts
- 1 tsp nutritional yeast
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 tsp maldon flaky sea salt
- 1 pound of cooked pasta or spiraled raw zucchini
- Optional garnishes: micro greens and freshly grated parmesan
Directions:
- Blend all ingredients in a food processor or blender until smooth adding water to desired consistency.
- Top pasta or spiraled raw zucchini with the pesto.
- Served with fresh micro greens and fresh grated parmesan.
