Roasted Chick Peas

Ditch the potato chips, this is a wonderful crunchy and salty snack that is easy and inexpensive to make! Experiment with your favorite spices for the perfect flavor.

Time: 30 minutes

Serves: 3-4

  • 1 can drained and rinsed chickpeas
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil, walnut oil OR even nitrite free bacon grease!
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Sea salt to taste (appx.½ tsp)
  • Cumin, onion powder, chili powder, OR your favorite seasoning… experiment!

  1. Preheat oven to 400.
  2. Gently dry chickpeas after rinsing between dish towels. The drier they are, the crispier the outcome.
  3. Drizzle oil and seasonings into a bowl or ziplock bag and toss chick peas into mixture. Coat chickpeas well.
  4. Lay them on a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Shake pan a few times to cook them evenly. They will be golden brown to dark brown and crunchy when done. Enjoy!
