Turnip French Fries

Trust us on this one! We love the crunchy outside and soft inside that these turnip french fries bring to the table. Serve with ketchup or avocado cilantro sauce!

Time: 45-60 minutes

Serves: 3-4


  • 1-3 Turnips; trimmed , peeled and cut into thin strips
  • 1-2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • Salt to taste


  1. Preheat the oven to 425.
  2. Place the turnip strips in a large ziploc bag and drizzle olive oil (or oil of choice) over the turnips in the bag and add any seasonings that you wish to be on the /€œfries/€.
  3. Seal the bag and shake the contents well to coat the turnips with oil.
  4. Spread the turnips on a non-stick cookie sheet. Sprinkle with salt if desired and bake for 45 minutes or until brown and tender. Be sure to turn them several times during the baking process. Serve immediately.

Note: The more ripe the turnips are the softer they will turn out to be. You may need to bake them up to an hour if you prefer them to be crispy.
